Established in early 1993, the Medical Equipment Department was formerly known as the Equipment Division and the Equipment and Materials Department, and officially renamed as the Medical Equipment Department in May 2012. Under the hospital’s development over the past two decades, it has gradually grown into a professional and technical department with management functions such as equipment management, measurement and quality assurance, medical supplies management, archival construction, as well as maintenance and repair. Moreover, such transformation can also be partly attributed to its professional and technical personnel and a set of systematic and standardized management system and work-flow.
(1) Departmental norms and fields:
The department adheres to the mission of providing services for clinical medicine, nursing, and hospital biomedical research and education. It is mainly engaged in the management of all clinical equipment, medical consumables, and biomedical research instrument in the hospital. As the clinical engineering, MED has made significant advancements, accelerating the expansion of the hospital since its establishment.
(2) Department Obligations
Medical Equipment Department (MED) is one of the administrative departments of the hospital. It is mainly used to engage in technology assessment before initial purchasing, post-purchase of life cycle management, supervision of safety use and quality assurance in medical instrumentation and consumables. Meanwhile, intelligent management of medical supplies is primarily conducted by MED, providing reliable data source and data analysis technique for the development of the hospital and promoting common development of the alliance hospital.
(3) Description of department
Medical Equipment Department (MED) consist of three management teams to perform a wide variety of duties as required by daily operations, which is called program assessment group, operation and management group and safety quality assurance group. Our department currently have 30 full-time employees, including one who hold senior title, three staffs who holds intermediate title, and nearly 40% have master’s degree. Currently our department set one director and one deputy director position.
